Siddhas discovered Alchemy, which was the best ever scientific and chemical research. Metals, salts, arsenic,roots,leaves, seeds,bark of the trees, flowers, coral and other marine products, and the things which lay in the bodies of animals such as musk-deer , civet, urine and dung were identified by the siddhas.
They had even established the healing capacities of those materials. They found the combinations of materials for a specific medicine and also indexed the medicines for respective diseases. They categorized the intake of medicines in various forms such as inhaling, drinking, coating and so on.

Those days there was no scientific laboratory. It was quite surprise that siddhas who had lived in forests, mountains and caves had done many researches and found medicine qualities of each material. Siddhas also did research on astronomy, astrology, medicine and concluded their results.
Though siddhas lived thousand of years ago, their practical solutions applicable event to the current era. They had dedicated their researches to the welfare of the Humankind. Hence we could call siddhas as the world's first scientists and foregoer of science.
